Learn the basics of diving and discover the beauty of Hawaii's underwater world. After a pool theory session you take to the clear, temperate Hawaiian waters and explore lava tubes, tunnels and coral reef and meet the marine life who make this their home.
The Kohala Coast offers some of the best diving in the Hawaiian Islands. Hawaii is one of the most geographically isolated places on earth - 2000 miles from the nearest major land mass. An amazing 30 percent of the state?s marine animals are found nowhere else in the word!
The theory session teaches students the basic rules for scuba diving, such as stabilizing ear pressure, breathing on scuba, and how to use the equipment. The dive boat goes to a shallow reef and an instructor will accompany the student at all times underwater. The dive is approximately 30-45 minutes long and goes to a maximum of depth of 40 feet.
