The Luxury Chocolate Walking Tour will take you to the posh Upper East Side where the street cafes and the hoard of French bistros make you feel like you landed straight into the heart of Paris. You'll be pampered and razzle dazzled, but the high intake of chocolate will give you a happiness high like you have never experienced before.
Your gracious guide will talk about chocolate and its history and will shortly introduce you the various boutiques you will visit, after which you will step inside Charbonnel et Walker at Saks Fifth Avenue. There you will taste various fine chocolates that will change your palate's sensibility forever.
After this you will proceed with a short walk on Park Avenue, one of the richest stretches of land in the country and the only two-way avenue on Manhattan Island towards Fauchon, the French patisserie founded in 1886 in Paris whose New York branch was opened in 2000. One of the managers will present to you the wide range of delicatessen from foie gras, olive oil, sea salt, an alarmingly extensive variety of teas (for the French) and of course, chocolates.
Going back on Park Avenue, and moving uptown towards the only Belgian chocolatier from the mix. Pierre Marcolini is one of the few chocolate makers in the world that still makes beans-to-bar products. He has stores all around the world and exports over 30% of its sales to gastronomic countries where it represents the "Haute Couture" of chocolate.
Next you will head to 69th Street with Madison Avenue where you will be welcomed by Debauve and Gallais, one of the most expensive chocolatiers in the world at this time. The staff will enchant you with anecdotes and their delicate products after which... Gorged on all those delectable sweets, you will still have to make it to the last stop on the itinerary which is La Maison du Chocolat itself (French for "the house of chocolate").. Your host will introduce you to the history of this exquisite company, its offerings and you'll have the chance to taste some of the most memorable treats.
After the tour is over, you are more than welcome to rest your tired legs and enjoy a cup of hot/iced chocolate and inquire about their Parcours Initiatique.
