Visit the Perchtoldsdorfer Heide in the southwest of Vienna.
This former pasture area is now a famous nature reserve due to its rare flora and its Ground Squirrel colony. Get an up-close look at them before hiking through the beautiful pine and mixed deciduous forest up to Josefwarte Lookout at 1,909 feet (582 meters) above sea level.
Here you can enjoy the wonderful view before taking some time to enjoy a lunch break (not included in tour price) on the way back to Vienna.
Ascend and Descend: 984 feet (300 meters) each way.
