Let your English speaking guide uncover the secrets of Portugal. As you venture away from the crowds discover Alentejo village with its white houses. Also explore Evora, classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage City including its University, Roman Temple and its Cathedral from the 12th century.
You are invited to Evora, classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage City, due to its excellent preservation along the centuries.
The town of Evora has been developing itself without losing its primitive characteristics. That's why it deserved this "prize" from UNESCO. After leaving Lisbon, you will drive to Evora by the countryside roads of Alentejo, for a beautiful sightseeing tour by car.
In Evora, you will have enough time to walk its historical center and "feel" the atmosphere of this town. You will visit its famous Roman Temple and the interior of Evora's University, founded in the 16th century. Here, besides the possibility of admiring its architectural aspects, you will feel the true environment of the Portuguese student youth.
This is a unique experience, however it's not the only original visit. When your guides were walking in Evora, they found an amazing contemporary handicraft studio and today they will share this experience with you. This is an "off the beaten track" visit (closed on Sundays).
After Evora, you will visit Arraiolos to explore the traditional Alentejo village: the white immaculate houses with blue or yellow stripes, the castle at the top of the village that keeps guard over the fields of Alentejo, the typical slow pace of its people, the art of living and the embroiders working in the streets, making the famous and genuine Arraiolos carpets.
What you will experience on this tour is, above all, the tranquillity and a sample of the real Portugal.
This tour is operated in a luxury vehicle as you tour the majestic sites of Portugal.
